Anxiety and CBD

CBD is a versatile treatment that can have a positive impact in patients battling a wide range of medical afflictions. However, some of the product’s most promising effects benefit mental rather than physical health.

As mentioned above, some of the common uses of CBD include serving as an alternative to highly addictive pain relievers and being used to curb existing substance addictions. That alone offers a boon to those in need. But that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the effect CBD can have on a person’s mental health and wellbeing.

Some of the psychiatric problems that CBD has been used to treat include seasonal affective disorder (SAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood swings brought on by PMS and other hormonal changes, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), clinical depression, and generalized anxiety. CBD has proven itself time and time again to be an effective way to combat mental health issues.

For example, a recent study suggests that not only can CBD be used for its anti-depressant and anti-anxiety effects, but its antipsychotic potential should be further explored as well. This randomized, double-blind clinical trial that looked at individuals at high clinical risk of psychosis. The study found that CBD offered therapeutic benefits and helped to normalize dysfunction in three areas of the brain that are linked to psychosis.

Although it can be used in patients who have been diagnosed with a serious mental health condition, as in the case above, you do not need to have a diagnosed mental illness in order to benefit.

How can CBD help anxiety and social anxiety disorders

One of the primary benefits of CBD is that it is an easy and accessible option—you do not need a prescription or diagnosis to use it, and it can be used when you feel you need it most, rather than on a set schedule like many medications.

Every single one of us experiences challenges with our mental health, even if it would be unfair and inaccurate to say that we have a mental illness. From heavy workloads to financial woes to the Sunday Scaries, all of us could use help sometimes managing our stress and anxiety.

CBD is a safe and common way to address anxiety. Our CBD gummy products, for example, are scientifically tailored to the needs of those experiencing anxiety and includes a dosage of vitamin B12 and vitamin D3 400IU for optimal health benefits.

Although we are still researching all the ways in which CBD can help people with their mental health, evidence has shown that it can serve as a fast-acting anti-anxiety treatment by stimulating serotonin transmission, which is a key function of pharmaceutical antidepressant medications.

On top of this, studies also indicate that CBD may promote neurogenesis or, in easier terms to understand, the creation of new brain cells. As it has only been in recent years that scientists have learned that neurogenesis is even possible among fully-grown adults, this is yet another sign that CBD has the serious potential to improve mental health and wellness.

Anxiety makes everything stink — literally. People with anxiety disorders tend to label neutral smells as bad smells.
